Microsoft and BlackRock Invest $30 Billion in AI Data Centers

The two companies said the investment vehicle, known as the Global AI Infrastructure Investment Partnership or GAIIP, aims to help improve the AI ​​and energy supply chains.

“We are committed to ensuring that AI can help advance innovation and drive growth across every sector of the economy,” Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said in a statement, as quoted by CNBCWednesday (18/9).

He said the initiative brings together financial and industry leaders to build the infrastructure of the future and empower it sustainably.

Abu Dhabi-backed investment firm MGX will be a general partner in the fund, while AI chip company Nvidia will contribute its expertise.

Other participants included Global Infrastructure Partners, or GIP, an infrastructure investor acquired by BlackRock.

The companies said the partnership would mobilize total potential investment of up to $100 billion including debt financing.
