Only poor people are allowed to sell goods on the streets of Bangkok.

Under the new regulations, street vendors must be Thai citizens, have a government welfare card, be paying for a house built by the National Housing Development Authority, and receive welfare subsidies from the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security.
In addition, the seller must be listed in the annual tax system of the Tax Department and the income after deducting business expenses must not exceed 300,000 baht (more than 220 million VND) per year.
Each vendor is only allowed to hire one assistant vendor, who must also be a Thai citizen. They must also have a permit from the relevant public health authorities.
Vendors must ensure a space of 1.5 – 2m for pedestrians, depending on the width of the sidewalk.
The area of each stall is limited to a maximum of 3m2 and are only allowed to be placed close to the edge of the road, at least 50cm away to ensure safety.
In addition, every 10 stalls must have a space of at least 3m long for an emergency exit.
