Around 120,000 civilians are barred from leaving the besieged city of Mariupol, claims President Ukraine, Volodymyr ZelenskyThursday (21/4).
Responding to Russia’s defense minister Sergei Shoigu’s statement that his forces controlled most of Mariupol, Zelensky said Russia controlled most of the city, but Ukrainian troops remained in part of it.
The remaining Ukrainian troops in Mariupol are now hiding in the Azovstal steel mill from where they fought the Russian siege.
Denmark’s prime minister on Thursday said his country would provide further US$90 million in military assistance to Ukraine and support further sanctions against Russia.
Speaking at a briefing during a visit to Kyiv, Mette Frederiksen said Denmark’s total military aid amounted to about US$146 million.
