Russia stated that the attitude of countries supplying weapons to Ukraineincluding heavy weapons, could turn out to be a threat to European security.
“The tendency to supply weapons to Ukraine and other countries is an act that threatens the security of the continent and provokes instability,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Thursday (28/4). CNN.
This opinion was expressed by Peskov when responding to a statement by the British Foreign Minister, Liz Truss, who said that countries that refused the Russian invasion should provide twice as much assistance to Ukraine.
“Some argue that we shouldn’t give up heavy weapons for fear of provoking something worse. However, in my view, not taking action is the greatest provocation,” Truss said.
In addition, Truss said that countries must provide supplies of heavy weapons, tanks and aircraft to Ukraine.
A number of countries are starting to get angry with the Russian invasion which has so far killed thousands of people in Ukraine.
Russia has always cited NATO and other Western countries as the reason they invaded Ukraine. Moscow claims they attacked Ukraine to protect themselves from NATO threats.
Western countries and NATO members are always thinking before sending weapons to Ukraine for fear of angering Russia and triggering a wider conflict.
When countries ventured to send weapons to Ukraine, President Vladimir Putin did not remain silent. He threatened a “lightning-fast” response if a foreign party intervened in Ukraine.
