SEVENTEEN released their latest single, entitled Darl+ing, last Friday (15/4). Darl+ing is the first English song by SEVENTEEN.
According to them, Darl+ing is a form of appreciation and gift for Carats (SEVENTEEN fans) who don’t speak Korean.
“This is a gift from us to the Carats,” Joshua said during an interview with Rolling Stone NME which was released on Monday (18/4).
“Our international fans, even though they don’t understand Korean, love us for who we are and our music. So, we just wanted to make songs that are easy to listen to and understand,” he added.
What Joshua stated was also an affirmation for S.Coups. According to him, non-Korean fans of SEVENTEEN often have difficulty understanding the message of their song.
“When we record, we want to try as hard as possible so that when they listen to our music, we can share together,” said S.Coups.
“So far we have always been sincere and honest with our music. However, on the new album later, we are very open and show our most honest hearts,” he said again.
SEVENTEEN will be scheduled to release their new album in May although no official title and details have been reported at this time.
The album will be their fourth studio album since debuting in May 2015. The 13-member idol group last released a studio album in September 2019, titled An Ode.
The album will also mark SEVENTEEN’s comeback after the last time releasing Extended Plays (EP) seven months ago. This idol group is quite diligent in issuing EPs. As of now, they have released 12 EPs.
SEVENTEEN is a K-pop boy band that has 13 members, namely S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, THe8, Mingyu, DK, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino.
This idol group debuted under Pledis Entertainment through the single Adore U. The song was written by SEVENTEEN members, namely Vernon, S.Coups, Woozi, and produced by Bumzu.
