Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky fundraising on line for countries that want to help Ukraine. He also launched the United24 platform.
Zelensky called the fundraiser to help Ukraine win the war. In addition, the funds will also be used to save victims and rebuild the country.
“In one click, you can donate funds to protect our defenders, to save our civilians and to rebuild Ukraine,” Zelensky said on Twitter.
According to him, Ukraine can win if other countries help. Therefore he asked people around the world to help Kyiv defeat Moscow.
“Only together do we have the potential to stop war and rebuild what Russia has destroyed,” he said.
The Ukrainian government also believes that people from all over the world have come together and want to help Ukraine. Therefore, it provides an official platform.
“United24’s goal is to increase donations to Ukraine and ensure the efficiency and transparency of their distribution,” the Ukrainian government wrote on its website.
The website states that the funds will be transferred to the official accounts of the National Bank of Ukraine and allocated by the ministry assigned to meet the most pressing needs. Some of the urgent needs include defense, development and medical matters.
He admitted that he would report regularly about the distribution of these funds.
“We provide reports on disbursement of funds every week,” the Ukrainian government wrote.
Recently, Russia is intensifying attacks in eastern Ukraine. They are even said to be attacking their neighboring country on a large scale before May 9.
On that same date, Russian President Vladimir Putin is reported to be officially declaring war. This is likely to see the Kremlin deploy its full force including reservists and conscripts.
