Netflix decided to stop showing ‘Pearl’, Meghan Markle’s animated series.
Netflix’s decision to stop several animation projects is part of a strategic decision on the production of animated series. Apart from ‘Pearl’, Netflix also stopped showing ‘Dino Daycare’ and ‘Boons and Curses’.
The decision to stop is related to reports of a decline in Netflix’s 200,000 subscribers in the first quarter of 2022. Netflix did not provide further details on the number of animated shows that will be discontinued on its platform.
‘Pearl’ is a collaboration project between Netflix and Archewell Productions, the company founded by Meghan and Harry.
This series tells the story of the adventures of a 12-year-old girl who was inspired by an influential woman in history. In this series, Meghan acted as the creator behind ‘Pearl’ along with several others including David Furnish who worked on ‘Rocketman’ and Carolyn Soper who gave birth to ‘Tangled’.
“Pearl’ is the second collaborative project. Previously, they worked together on a documentary series titled ‘Heart of Invictus’.

However, Netflix said it would continue working on the project with Archewell Productions. ‘Heart of Invictus’ continues even though the broadcast of ‘Pearl’ is stopped.
