Actress Kiera Knightley admits that her daughter refuses to watch films starring the British actress, such as Pirates of the Caribbean to Love Actually.
Reported People On Wednesday (20/4) time in the United States, Knightley called the reluctance of his daughter, Edie, reasonable.
“He had absolutely no interest in seeing me on television, which is quite natural. I think it’s perfectly natural,” Knightley said.
“I don’t know if he will [tertarik dengan peran film saya], and that’s good. He was like, ‘No. No. I’m fine’,” he continued.
Nonetheless, Knightley said that her daughter was fascinated by Disney films, such as Encanto. Edie is said to enjoy watching animated films with her sister, Delilah, and can sing the hit song We Don’t Talk About Bruno.
Meanwhile, Kiera Knightley will release the animated series Charlotte as a voice actor. The series tells the true story of Charlotte Salomon, a young German-Jewish painter who grew up in Berlin on the eve of World War II.
Salomon’s life is haunted by tragedy so he tries to escape the horrors around him and tries to achieve his dream. The artist tried to overcome all odds, until finally killed in Auschwitz by the Nazis.
Knightley said the animated story wasn’t something she would share with her children until “they’re a little older”. However, he believes that Charlotte Salomon’s life story is important for everyone to watch.
“I think, as an artist, her work should be celebrated more. It would be great to have so many great female artists out there, and I think she must be one of them,” Knightley said.
“I think what he’s managed to achieve and the incredible way it’s done is very inspiring.”
Charlotte itself is scheduled for release on April 22, 2022. Besides Keira Knightley, this animation also stars Marion Cotillard, Brenda Blethyn, Sam Claflin, and the late Helen McCrory.
