United States Vice President Kamala Harris has tested positive for COVID-19, although she does not feel any symptoms, the vice president’s office announced on Tuesday (26/4).
In a statement, the vice president’s spokeswoman, Kirsten Allen, said Harris tested positive for COVID-19 after conducting rapid test and also PCR. He added the vice president would self-isolate and continue his work from home.
Allen said Harris had no history of close contact with President Joe Biden or First Lady Jill Biden in recent times, due to their different travel schedules.
“He will comply with CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) guidelines and the advice of his doctor. The Vice President will return to the White House after his test is negative,” the statement said.
Harris, who is 57, has been vaccinated and received two booster injections, the last one on April 1. [jm/lt]
