President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), a Twitter tweet reveals talks with the President Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskybut did not mention the G20.
“Yesterday, I spoke with the President of Ukraine, @ZelenkyyUa. I repeat, Indonesia supports all efforts for peace negotiations to be successful and is ready to provide humanitarian assistance,” Jokowi said on Twitter on Thursday (28/4).
However, Jokowi did not mention anything related to the G20 Summit in a tweet on his Twitter account.
Whereas, previously, Zelensky expressed his gratitude because Indonesia had invited Ukraine to attend the G20.
“I appreciate [Jokowi] for inviting me to the @g20org summit,Zelensky wrote on Twitter.
In addition to the G20 issue, the two leaders also discussed Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, especially its clear stance at the United Nations (UN).
Jokowi and Zelensky also discussed food security. The number one in Ukraine gave no further details on what else they discussed.
Recently, Indonesia has been in the spotlight as the G20 presidency in the midst of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
RI decided to continue to invite Russia as one of the heads of the G20 to the forum which will be held next November in Bali.
RI’s attitude has drawn criticism from a number of parties, especially Western countries. The United States, for example, threatened to boycott the forum.
Annoyance was followed by Canada and Australia. Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison doesn’t even want to have a table with President Vladimir Putin, if indeed Russia will come.
