Group ISIS claim responsibility for bomb attack on a passenger bus that killed a woman in the Afghan capital Sunday (1/5).
Kabul police reported that apart from the one killed, three others were injured in the bomb attack on the bus.
It was the second bombing in the capital in as many days after 10 people were killed last Friday when a bomb exploded at a mosque while worshipers were praying.
As reported by AFP, dozens of people were killed and dozens more injured in the deadly attacks that occurred in the last two weeks of Ramadan.
No group had previously claimed Friday’s mosque bombing until ISIS claimed responsibility.
In recent weeks, ISIS has claimed a range of attacks, most notably those targeting Afghanistan’s minority Shia and Sufi communities.
Taliban officials insist their forces have defeated ISIS, but analysts say the jihadist group remains a major security challenge.
Kabul police meanwhile pledged to ensure safety during the Eid al-Fitr holiday which marks the end of Ramadan.
