SM Entertainment confirm Girls’ Generation or SNSD will comeback with a new album in August 2022, or coincide with the celebration of the 15th debut anniversary.
Reported from Star News via Naver on Tuesday (17/5), the latest album has a special meaning because it marks the comeback of SNSD with eight members to the Korean entertainment stage after last releasing the album Holiday Night last August 2017.
In addition, Girls’ Generation is also planning to appear on various TV shows and create reality shows to commemorate the release of the new album which coincides with the 15th debut anniversary.
Girls’ Generation is a Korean girl group that debuted under SM Entertainment in 2007 with the single Into the New World on their self-titled album.
At that time, SNSD did not immediately achieve success. Their first album, Girls’ Generation sold 56,804 copies and was at number 12 in the best selling album of the year.
Since then, the girl group consisting of Taeyeon, Sunny, Tiffany, Hyoyeon, Yuri, Sooyoung, Yoona, Seohyun, and Jessica has released a row of hits, such as Girls’ Generation’, Gee, Tell Me Your Wish (Genie), and Lion Heart. .
Then on September 29, 2014, one of their members, Jessica left SM Entertainment due to scheduling problems. Girls Generation continues with the remaining eight members.
This eight-member composition has only lasted until now even though three other members, Tiffany, Seohyun and Sooyoung left SM Entertainment in 2017.
Meanwhile, the other five members, namely Hyoyeon, Yuri, Taeyeon, Sunny and Yoona, extended their contracts to remain under SM Entertainment in 2017.
In recent years, the eight members of SNSD have been busy with their own lives, such as Taeyeon releasing the first full album titled INVU, then Seohyun starring in the new Netflix film Love and Leashes, and Hyoyeon SNSD with a solo mini album titled Deep.
