Amber Heard give towitness for the first time in a trial against Johnny Depp on Wednesday (4/5) US time.
She said that Johnny Depp used to be the love of her life but she had to face terrible things during their marriage.
“He was the love of my life. But he was also something else, and that was terrible,” said Amber Heard, as quoted by AFP.
In this testimony, Amber Heard also recounted her initial encounter with her ex-husband, marriage, and the various forms of violence she experienced.
The film ‘The Rum Diary’ is a project that brought them together in 2009. For Amber Heard, she and Johnny Depp seemed to be in a vortex of romance.
“I fell in love with this man. When I’m with him, I feel a ‘sting’ in my body. I feel ‘fly’ like a butterfly. But I can’t see clearly,” he said.
According to the Aquaman star, all of these romances turned into disaster starting in 2012. He said that Johnny Depp was physically abused starting with a slap after he laughed at one of his tattoos.
Amber Heard asked what was written on one of her faded tattoos. When Johnny Depp replied that the tattoo said ‘Wino’ — referring to the name Winona Ryder, Depp’s ex-girlfriend — Amber Heard admitted that she laughed because she thought it was a joke.
“He slapped my face. I don’t know what was going on. I just stared at him,” Heard said, as quoted by Reuters.
It says Johnny slapped Amber twice more and said, “You think that’s funny, bitch?”
Under the influence of alcohol and drugs
The testimony continued, although occasionally Amber Heard had to sob. According to him, Johnny Depp was so jealous and suspicious of his fellow actors. In fact, continued Amber Heard, he was accused of having an affair.
“Allegations, accusations and then he would explode. He would throw a glass or turn the table and then hit the wall and then hit the wall very close to my head,” he said.
Amber Heard said various “horrific” incidents occurred due to alcohol and drugs.
He said, different types of drinks or drugs, different types of violence committed by Johnny Depp. Depp who uses opium is different from Depp who uses Adderall and cocaine.
Addressing the jury, he said the current trial was “the most painful and difficult thing” he had ever experienced. She struggles to find words about how painful the experience was.
“It’s terrible for me to sit here for weeks and relive it all.”
The trial process for Amber Heard versus Johnny Depp in a defamation case has been going on since April 12, 2022. Both of them feel they have been harmed by false opinions in public.
Johnny Depp accuses his ex-wife of ruining his career in Hollywood. Amber Heard opined in The Washington Post that her ex-husband was violent.
Meanwhile Amber is suing back and claiming she suffered “rampant physical abuse and abuse” at her hands.
