The trial between Johnny Depp oppose Amber Heard continues in Virginia, USA, on Wednesday (16/5). Heard’s sister, Whitney Henriquez, was called to testify.
One of his testimonies is that Henriquez witnessed Depp dangling his dog out of a moving car. The incident occurred on March 21, 2013.
At that time, Henriquez says, he was sitting in the front passenger seat with driver Depp, while Heard and Depp themselves were sitting in the back passenger seat.
Until one day, he heard the back window where Depp was sitting open.
“And, Johnny [Depp] holding our dog out the window,” said Henriquez, quoted from Independent on Wednesday (18/5) local time.
“I was just speechless, I was scared because I remember how drunk he was [Depp] and the dog is very small. If he moves a little or gets lost, he’ll be out the window.”
Afterwards, Henriquez said Depp put the dog back in the car. Henriquez hears Depp laughing after that.
“He just laughed, like a scary laugh, loud and chuckle,” he said.
“He also made a joke of going to put it in the microwave. That was his joke after that,” continued Henriquez.
The incident occurred when Depp suspected Heard had been unfaithful to him. Henriquez said Depp accused Heard of having an affair with a friend who took a photo together, and reconnected with his ex over a painting hanging on the wall.
Henriquez testified that at that time his brother was keeping his distance from his ex-girlfriend who made the painting.
In addition, Henriquez also notices Heard’s swollen and red face, as well as his injured lips. However, says Henriquez, he doesn’t think much of it.
“I think he [Heard] been crying,” he said.
“Honestly that wasn’t my focus at the time. My focus was just finding out what he was up to [Depp] annoyed and tried to get him out of the house,” continued Henriquez.
The day before Whitney Henriquez testified at the trial, Amber Heard also returned to the witness stand on Tuesday (17/5).
In cross-examination by Johnny Depp’s legal team, Heard said his ex-husband had tried to kill him, thus insisting that Depp did not help him land a role in the film Aquaman.
Johnny Depp previously sued Amber Heard for alleged defamation with a lawsuit worth US$50 million.
The accusation of defamation was caused by the confession Amber Heard she became a proud victim of home violence in a December 2018 Washington Post article.
