Queen Elizabeth II attending the Platinum Jubilee celebrations at Windsor Castle, EnglishSunday (16/5), after health problems had interfered with his activities for the past week.
AFP reported that Queen Elizabeth used a walking stick as she walked into a special area of the royal family at the event. The Queen was then greeted with a standing ovation from the audience at the event themed “A Gallop Through History.”
Prior to today’s event, the Queen also attended the Royal Windsor equestrian event on Friday (13/5).
Not only Queen Elizabeth, the Platinum Jubilee event was also enlivened by the presence of Hollywood actors Tom Cruise and Helen Mirren. This event will last for four days, enlivened by a military parade, pop song concerts, and even a picnic.
Previously, Queen Elizabeth did not attend the opening ceremony of parliament a few days ago. It was the first time the Queen had not attended the event since 1963.
Some officials said the Queen’s absence was due to mobility issues that made it difficult for her to walk and stand.
Prior to today’s event, Queen Elizabeth was last seen in public at the end of March. She attended the memorial service for the death of her husband, Prince Philip.
During the event, the Queen uses a walking stick and needs help to sit up.
The Platinum Jubilee was held to celebrate 70 years of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign.
